Feed the Poor

December 1

There are around 795 million hungry people in the world today. Every year, 3.1 million children under the age of five die due to poor nutrition globally, and 66 million primary school going children attend classes while hungry in developing nations. Malnutrition causes stunted growth in children and affects their cognitive development. In fact, anaemia in pregnant women can result in the birth of mentally impaired children and the death of the mother during childbirth. Chronic hunger makes both children and adults more susceptible to common illnesses and infections, and can eventually lead to death due to wasting or rapid weight loss.

Siddhabhoomi is a not-for-profit social enterprise, which collects excess food from individuals, weddings, restaurants, corporate offices, etc. and gives it to people who really need it. Our belief is that the Nutritious Meal Program has an important “socialisation role”. Food should be served in an organized, dignified, equitable, friendly manner.

The world produces enough food to feed all 7.5 billion people, yet 1 in 9 people around the world go hungry each day. Where is the disconnect? Here are 9 of the most popular causes of world hunger  and how you can help.

Pioneering Siddhabhoomi Free Food Program is focused towards distributing hot, nutritious and fresh food to poor, needy & hungry children across pockets of poverty in India. We have a daily nutritious meal coverage of more than 1000 hungry & underprivileged children and our daily food distribution regimen is smooth, efficient and dependable – 365 days a year.
